News Network New Delhi Amarchand & Mangaldas acted as the legal counsel advising Marico Limited for the acquisition of the personal care business of Paras Pharmaceuticals Limited from Reckitt Benckiser Group. An A&M team led by Partner Leena Chacko advised Marico Limited on the deal, which according to media reports is expected to be around Rs 650 crore, and would entitle Marico to all key assets in Paras Pharmaceuticals including intellectual property rights, supply agreements and third party manufacturing agreements. Accordingly, key brands of Paras Pharmaceuticals such as “SetWet”, “Zatak” and “Livon” will be transferred to Marico Limited. In another recent transaction involving sale of Numeric Power Systems Limited’s UPS business to Indo Asian Electric Private Limited, an affiliate of Legrand France S.A., a team of Amarchand & Mangaldas led by Partner Vandana Shroff acted for Legrand. The transaction also involved the sale of Numeric Power Systems Pte. Limited, a 100% subsidiary of Numeric Power Systems Limited in Singapore, UPS business to an affiliate in Singapore of Legrand France S.A.
