18 April 2012 21:11 RS Agrawal Nagpur

In a case seeking direction for restraint on broadcast of "The Dirty Picture" on Sony TV for the time slot 12 noon and 8 pm the Nagpur bench of the Bombay High Court issued notice to respondents.
The matter by way of a public interest litigation was filed by a city lawyer Praveen K. Dahat. He submitted that the promos of the film give the impression that the film is unfit for family viewing with children.
He argued that contrary to rule 6 of the Cable TV Network Rules, 1994 and Cable TV Networks (Regulation) Act, 1995, the film which has been given "A" certificate is to be shown on TV between 6 am and 11 pm, contrary to the provision in the Rules.
While the film is scheduled for broadcast on April 22 the case has been listed for next hearing on April 20.
Advocate M. Anil Kumar appeared for the petitioner.
